Remote MP3 Playlist Builder

Simple Overview

rmpb is a pair of scripts: one that presents a list of MP3 files and directories on a computer and allows a web user to build a playlist, and one (a modified version of mp3stream, available here) that streams the files to a remote computer in the manner of Shoutcast.

All needed documentation for rmpb can be found in the file README within the tarball, or in the same file here. Perl coders can learn more about the script's operation by reading the source code, which is relatively clear and well-commented.

Known Problems

• If you attempt to run two streamers on the same port, the second one just won't work, but there will be no indication of this to the web user. This is why rmpb should probably be only available to a limited number of trustworthy users.
• If one copy of ministream.pl is already streaming data to a connected client on a port, and a second copy is started on that port, the second copy will run fine but a client won't be able to connect to it. I'm not sure why it runs, but it does.

rmpb is still very much a work in progress. If you find any bugs, omissions, errors, or if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to email me and let me know. When reporting bugs/problems please be as specific and include as much information about your script and setup as possible. Including a URL that reproduces the errant behaviour will help expediate a timely and accurate solution to the problem.
